" The Price of he Promise" - Network Marketing Greatest Product- Freedom !

This is one of the most powerful explanations I have seen about going through the numbers until you succeed.  I am not sure who the author is… Anyhow, enjoy!

 
Mark Yarnell, minister in a small town in Texas, was headed for bankruptcy and just about to lose his car and home. He looked for a way out and discovered network marketing. Luckily, he had a wise sponsor.

The sponsor gave Mark “THE PROMISE”. “This business can set you free financially in one to three years.” But he also gave him “THE PRICE” “To succeed, you will have to face and conquer 4 major enemies.”Mark said, “It’s a deal.”

 

Mark began by inviting 200 friends over to his house to watch a video. 80 said “No, not interested”

- Mark had encountered ENEMY #1: Rejection.

He thought, “No problem. My sponsor warned me about that. I’ve got120 people still coming over.” Guess what?

- He had just encountered ENEMY #2: Deception.

Mark thought, “No problem. My sponsor warned me about that. I’ve got 70 people who watched the tape.” Guess what? 57 said “Not Interested”.

- He had just encountered ENEMY #3: Apathy.

Undaunted, Mark thought, “No problem. 13 people signed up.” Guess what? 12 of them dropped out of the business shortly thereafter.

- He had just encountered ENEMY #4: Attrition.

Attrition had left Mark with just one serious associate. But to this day, that single distributor earns Mark over $50,000 per month.

Mark Yarnell’s story is NOT Unique!

You may have heard of Bill Britt, one of the most successful distributors in Amway. Some years ago, 20/20 did a feature story on Amway. They spent 19 minutes interviewing whiners and complainers – several distributors who had failed and showed the garages full of products they couldn’t sell. During the last minute of the show, Mr. Britt was interviewed in front of his palatial home. He was asked, “Mr. Britt, this business has obviously worked for you. What’s your secret?”

He replied, “There is no secret. I simply showed the plan to 1200 people. 900 said, ‘No’ and only 300 signed up. Out of those 300, only 85 did anything at all. Out of those 85 only 35 were serious, and out of those 35, 11 made me a millionaire.” Like Mark Yarnell, Bill worked through the numbers.

Jason Boreyko, former co-founder of New Vision, told this story recently. When he was a distributor in Matol, he signed up 50 people. He heard a lot of “No’s” on the way to those 50. Jason took one man, who he knew would be terrific in the business to lunch, told him about the business and the man said “No.” Jason took the man to lunch again the next month and told him the updates. Once again the man said, “No.” Jason sent him some more information and took him to lunch again the next month. And again the man said, “No.” That went on for six months. The seventh month, something had changed for the man, and he said, “Yes.” That man made Jason over one million dollars. Jason also worked through his numbers.

According to Richard Poe in Wave Three while starting Amway, Rich DeVos and Jay Van Andel, America’s eleventh richest people, recruited 500 people. 495 dropped out. The five that didn’t quit built Amway. All $7 billion of Amway’s business was built under those 5 people. Jay and Rich had to work through their numbers. There are many similar stories. Jeff, the top money earner in Mannatech, signed up 27 people his first month.

One might think that he is especially talented at sponsoring. Actually, Jeff will be the first to tell you that he is not talented at all.

In fact, he feels that he did very poorly. To recruit those 27, Jeff talked to 2000 people that first month. And of the 27, the only one who did anything significant with the business was Ray Gebauer, who has more than half of Mannatech in his downline.

Jeff’s word to you is that the numbers never lie. Pick your goal and then get into massive action. If you talk to enough people, you will make it!

Here’s the lesson: Your success is directly related to the degree to which you are willing to work to find others like yourself who are committed to succeed. Mark Yarnell’s odds were 1 out of 50. (Jeff’s were really 1 out of 2000.) Would you be willing to go through 200 people to find the 1 who will make you $50,000 a month? Or go through 200 people to become a millionaire? Or hear uncounted “No’s” to sign up 50 people to find a million dollar person? I hope you will. It’s easier when you know the odds up front.

But here’s the catch: You have your own set of odds and you won’t know what they are until AFTER YOU’VE SUCCEEDED. So if you’ve gone through 50 or 100 people and you haven’t found 1 serious person yet, you can either give up and assume the business doesn’t work or recognize that you are working through your own numbers.

Are you willing to find out what your own set of odds is?

That means that you must pay the price for freedom. Remember that the numbers never fail you. Despite where you are in your skill level, your success is assured if you talk to enough people. And as your skill improves, so will your odds.

There is no such thing as luck in this industry. Winning big is a matter of being willing to pay the price.

The choices which you make today will determine the course of your entire future.

If you have been online for any length of time, you have probably heard about Twitter, or maybe have even started using it. It is a social media channel—the focus is relationship building. “Twitter is a service for friends, family, and co–workers to communicate and stay connected through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question: ‘What are you doing?’” (twitter.com.) It is a way to connect with a community of people who have similar interests. It is quickly becoming one of the most powerful, free, web 2.0 tools available to any business owner or Internet marketer.  

 

You may be wondering how exactly you can grow your network marketing business with Twitter. I have been using it for a while, and I am starting to see some great success. Let me share with you seven ways you can use Twitter to grow your network marketing business:

 

1. Twitter allows you to grow your lists, albeit in a different manner than most of us are used to. You create a list of followers who are interested in what you have to say. This is great because these people will see all of your tweets or messages that you send out, and they are opting to follow you. Focus on increasing the number of people who follow you, and over time, some of them will become interested in your business.

 

2. Pay attention to your Twitter username. This is the name that is after “twitter.com” when you register. I recommend either using your full name or a catchy name that explains your business and what you do.

 

3. Be sure to complete your Twitter profile. Include a link to one of your websites as well as important keywords which describe what you do and who you are so that people who are looking for you will be able to find you by doing a keyword search.

 

4. Take advantage of the other Twitter applications and related sites. These include:

 

  • TwitterLocal: Allows you to search for people and tweets within your local area.

 

  • TweetLater: Allows you to automatically send a message to everyone who follows you.

 

  • Tweetdirectory: Allows you to search a directory of everyone on twitter with several search options.

 

5. Make sure to tweet at least twice a day. Make your tweets interesting and relevant to not only your business but also your audience. Include updates to Squidoo lenses, new blog posts by you and other interesting ones you find online, as well as interesting quotes and facts you find online. You can also share personal details of your life as long as they are positive and not too revealing.

 

6. Take the time to visit the sites listed in the tweets of others. Comment on their Squidoo lenses and blog posts, and in general, return traffic to them just like you want them to visit your materials.

 

7. Every once in a while, participate in the conversation by sending back tweets to other followers preceded with the @ symbol. This serves as a message directly to that person.

 

In short, you can benefit from the amount of exposure Twitter will bring you. It is a free way to drive targeted traffic to your website. It can be a great way for you to develop an audience and fan base and to grow your network marketing business. The trick is to work it properly and then give it some time.

5 Easy Principles of Viral Marketing.
Viral marketing sounds like something that you need a vaccine for, but it’s actually a good thing.

In fact, it’s a very good thing.

What is viral marketing?

A great example of viral marketing is Hotmail, which was one of the pioneers of free email accounts. 

A person signed up for a free Hotmail email account, and starts emailing others. At the bottom of every one of those sent emails is a little message telling others to “Click Here” for their own free Hotmail email account.

As you can imagine, it didn’t take long for the ripple effect to go to work and before long---Hotmail was HUGE.

All because of viral marketing.

If you would like to try your e-hand at viral marketing, here are 5 basic components that are easy to understand and then put into practice. To be effective, viral marketing must:

1. Give something away FREE. ‘Free’ is one of the most powerful marketing words there are. It is a definite attention grabber! Besides the fact that almost everyone loves getting something for nothing, the average person is much more likely to pass such a freebie around and share with other people. Those people, in turn, pass it on and share with others within their own circle……and so it goes….on and on….VIRAL.

2. Be something that is very easy, practically effortless, to pass on and spread to other people. Think of flu season and apply the same principles to viral marketing---viruses spread farther and faster if they’re easy to transmit. So, wrap your viral message up in something easy to transfer such as an email, graphic or one click software download.

3. Be appealing to almost everyone. Remember that people buy under the influence of others, and the same motivation that produces this effect works the same for getting and having what others have. It’s human nature, people want to be popular and have what “everybody else” has.

4. Take advantage of existing communication circles and networks of social contacts. Research in social science has shown that most folks have a social network of 8-12 people. Those who are on the internet a lot, especially in online communities such as Facebook, MySpace, YouTube and others, may have literally thousands of contacts. If you tap into that existing network by placing your message on a site like one of those, it will spread much faster and have a better chance of going viral.

5. Use other people’s resources. Affiliate programs are a great example of taking advantage of the resources of others. A news release with your message might be picked up by hundreds of online periodicals that will then be read by hundreds of thousands of people.

1. Be real, be transparent, be authentic and be yourself… I mean your REAL self. Too often people spend incredible amounts of energy trying to project themselves as something they’re not. Most of their conversation is spent trying to impress and they think they have everyone snookered.

Here is the reality: no one is fooled. People are always transparent… even when they think they aren’t. I’m sure you meet people all the time who say all the right things, look the part, but you just know, in your gut, even if you can’t put your intellectual finger on it, that they are full of hooey.

We are all intuitive and sensitive beings. We can feel the truth. We can sense authenticity and we can sense when it isn’t present. Projecting pretense only pushes people away from you—quickly and regularly. Your real self—the one that isn’t king of the hill, has fears, is concerned about family and has a genuine passion for a product, service or helping other people succeed—is far more attractive to people than anything else.

I think the era of “fake it till you make it” of the ‘80s and ‘90s has passed. People are smarter today and more than ever are looking for authenticity. Now let me be clear, no matter where you are in your business, in your financial success or in life, I DO want you to start dressing the part and walking the walk. I want you to start representing your elevated self. I want those things to be demonstrations of your new commitment to be better, show up better and live better. I’m talking about not fibbing on the truth.

2. Treat people… like people. I remember a mentor of mine when I was in real estate corrected me on this. I was having a discussion and I showed him my “Hit List” of target prospects. He said, “Hit List?  Who wants to be your next HIT?! These are real people, real families, who will be going through one of the most emotional transactions of their life, involving the most valuable asset they own—their home. Not until this list is considered the list of those families whom you will help, protect and fight for next, will they be interested in what you have to say.” That was great advice. It is not just semantics; it is an entirely different philosophy, mindset and emotional approach to every conversation and human interaction.

Don’t treat people like targets, capital, pawns or even prospects or just customers. Treat people like people… people with real desires, fears, hopes, wishes, worries, dreams and ambitions… just like you.

3. Take a sincere interest in other people. The best way to do this is to talk less and listen more. Make fewer statements, ask more questions. Everyone wants to work on their script: What do I say? Instead, it’s better to work on your questions. What questions will draw people out so they talk about their real values, interests, hopes and desires. Once others express what they really want, it’s much easier to match your potential solution to their real and personally expressed needs.

4. Always be positive. Be the one who brightens a room and every conversation you enter. It is easy to pile on to a complaint fest or add to the rousing gossip, but you will actually be perceived better by others if you don’t join them in that talk.

I am always supremely impressed when I witness someone turn down the opportunity to talk negatively about someone else, even if it would have been only to agree with the one speaking or join the company of misery talk.

Let your reputation and brand become those of positivity, grace and class. These rare qualities are what people look for in others. Be the standout.

5. Recognize others. Give people honest and sincere appreciation. Take a page from Catherine the Great’s book: “Praise loudly, blame softly.” Catch people doing things right and acknowledge them. Congratulate others on their accomplishments; celebrate others’ victories. Find at least a dozen ways to compliment, congratulate or appreciate someone else’s work, contribution or successes every day.

Be so busy giving other people recognition that you don’t need any yourself. Do that and people will swarm to you like bees to honey.

6. Give. Most people are only after getting… and they wonder why they don’t. Look for ways to contribute, provide, help, offer and assist. This goes back to the golden rule of relationships that Zig Ziglar taught us, “You can have everything in life that you want if you will just help enough other people get what they want.” Give first, give often and give last. Give, give and give.

I see my relationships as bank accounts (psychologically, not emotionally), the more I deposit the more valuable I am to that person and the more I have on account with them. There might come a time when I need to make a small withdrawal, but I always want to be on the positive side of the ledger. My objective is to create a great surplus of wealth in as many accounts (or people) as possible by depositing as much as I can as often as I can.

This is how I use social media and my blog. All I want to do is give value, distribute value and contribute value, not to sell, promote or “get.” I use those platforms to help, serve, give and contribute. Each tweet, each posting on Facebook, each article on this blog, is completely focused on providing ideas, insights and resources to help people become more successful. As a result, I think, if the numbers and comments you leave me don’t lie, I am perceived to be a very valuable relationship for tens of thousands of people. Very rarely do I recommend something I own or benefit from, and if I do it’s because I know it will serve the subject we are discussing and the other person’s goals or objectives.

That is what I recommend you do—seek to help, give, assist, empower and support. Build a reputation as one who wants to give and help others… and as Zig promises, in return you will GET everything you want in life.

An Education You Can Take to the Bank

I listen with interest each year, as parents share their angst over the rising costs of sending their kids off to college. It’s not just parents of college-aged kids; it’s a topic on the hearts and minds of nearly every parent at some point. After all, doesn’t a college education guarantee a successful future?

After barely graduating high school with a D average (and only after I cheated off my best friend’s Civics final), it was no surprise that college wasn’t in the cards for me. It’s not that I didn’t have the intelligence or ambition. In fact, I wanted the benefits of a lucrative career. I just lacked the patience to muddle through more of what I had just escaped. Sound familiar to any of you?

As luck would have it, early in my career path I was introduced to Network Marketing and embarked on a whole new kind of education. Coincidentally, it wasn’t until halfway through my fourth year that I began to really apply what I was learning and experienced phenomenal results. And the rest, as they say, is history. 

IMAGINE a whole new kind of college education ...

Money magazine reports that colleges nationwide continue to jack up tuition four times faster than the inflation rate. With college costs escalating — and average salaries dropping — you may find yourself asking: Is a college education worth the price?  

THE CURRENT PARADIGM LOOKS LIKE THIS:

You save a substantial amount in your child’s first 18 years to pay the $25,000 to $50,000 a year for him or her to earn a four-year degree. Often, there is no clear outcome in mind; no clear career plan or income path.

They go to school for four years, studying many of the same subjects they did in high school: history, math, English, etc.

They earn little or no income. Had they held a full-time job, this lost income would be more than $100,000 over those four years. Lost income plus expenses adds up to $200,000 to $300,000 per child. And you are out the cash with no recourse … keeping your fingers crossed that your investment will pay off for them.

They graduate from college having learned how to get — and hopefully keep — a J.O.B. working for someone else. For those of us acquainted with the harsh realities of the workaday world, there is little security in that.

WHAT IF IT LOOKED LIKE THIS:

A university staffed by people who love to give back — teachers, coaches and mentors. Many are successful Network Marketing leaders who live a life of choice and contribution. The economic paradigm shift is staggering.

Using the Network Marketing model, the UNIVERSITY is a distributor in your favorite MLM company. You would sponsor the University, which in turn would sponsor your child.

There is no tuition. The University earns based on how successful the student becomes. It earns on as many different distributorships as it has students. There are hundreds of MLM companies involved, and therefore thousands of income centers funneling in. With no significant overhead except for staff, the University is very profitable.

You are not out any tuition and the University stands to earn — potentially forever — based on the efforts of your child. Plus, you get to invest the $100,000 you would have spent and watch it grow.

Your child learns invaluable life skills, like leadership, self-motivation, public speaking, listening, sales, self-esteem building, team building, project management and all aspects of marketing.

Your child works all four years to build his or her own Network Marketing Empire. They learn how to market themselves and their products; how and where to find prospects, to approach and language their offers, to give effective presentations, to speak powerfully to groups, and manage their business profits/losses and growth. They are held accountable to hit their numbers each week: numbers of approaches, presentations and new representatives.

Graduation is achieved by reaching a specific level in the comp plan, with a residual income of $4,000 to $5,000 a month — which exceeds the average first-year income for most college grads. If they do not graduate, they “stay in school” until they get it.

Upon graduation your child is free to design their own life, either continuing in Network Marketing, or pursuing a full-time career.

What could you have done with your life had you graduated college with a residual income of $4,000 to $5,000 a month? Would you have chosen the same career path you did, or would you have done something more fun and rewarding? How would you have invested that extra income over the past 10, 20, or 30 years? How much more net worth would you have?

How different would your parents lives be, had they redirected tuition into their own financial freedom and fun? How would their lives be different had you earned them $4,000 to $5,000 a month since college?

I am NOT advocating that a college education is NOT valuable. It is. And if the student has an entrepreneurial spirit, they are likely to be in business for themselves eventually anyway. Why burden them (and your bank account) with a traditional algebra education, which they may never use. Think Bill Gates, Michael Dell, Steve Jobs, Larry Ellison and Richard Branson — none of whom have college degrees, yet are wildly successful.

Since the MLM University does not yet exist, you can start your kids on this path by instilling the principles of Network Marketing early on. Create a vision for your own success and you will naturally model for them what is possible. Then mentor and encourage them to achieve their own greatness.

Now there’s an education you can take to the bank.

The Character to Lead

 

World history is full of powerful leaders; men and women who changed the direction of societies, business and culture. Nothing is more valuable to our society’s health. Yet today, leadership often feels like a missing link in business, politics, religion, education and even the family.

Sure, leadership exists. But it is seldom the kind of long-term guidance that inspires us to move powerfully in a direction that we would not necessarily move on our own initiative. And often, it lacks energy and deliberate, purposeful action.

A Vision That Contributes

More than anything, a leader has a crystal-clear Vision that is compelling enough, and contributes enough, to inspire us to pursue it. Not only do leaders have a clear Vision, they are a clear Vision to those they endeavor to lead. And they communicate in such a way that the Vision stays on the forefront of our hearts and minds.

A Vision is a living-color picture of a goal — one you can see, hear, smell, taste, and feel — held as a powerful, inevitable expectation. Visions are goals for which we are on a collision course to blow right through, and our motivation is sourced in them.

A leader listens in such a way that we feel heard; not necessarily agreed with, but at least heard and honored. They also ask us to do things that, if left to our own thinking, we would consider unreasonable, impossible or outrageous. Not things that violate our values — on the contrary, things that actually honor our values.

As a result of whom they are, and how they speak and act, leaders cause us to feel stronger, happier, more “on fire” about our future. And this motivation prompts us to be powerful in our pursuits.

Character That Withstands Scrutiny

Leaders act with the ethics, morals, character and principles that are expected by their followers. A leader’s actions are consistent with his or her promises. We can count on a leader to have the integrity to be who they say they are, and to share themselves wholly and authentically — their fears, their weaknesses, their strengths and their power.

A leader stays on the path of personal and character development, knowing that none of us ever arrive. They understand that as soon as we act as if we have no room to grow, we lose our power to lead.

Just Do It ... Anyway

All great endeavors are fraught with risk and adversity. Leaders are powerfully motivated by their Visions to stay on course to their goals, regardless of the obstacles. They are eternally enthusiastic. They have the courage to face their fears and go where others are afraid to go.

Leaders generate the physical wellness and energy to do the work. They possess the persistence to immediately regroup and relaunch when needed. They unleash their innate creativity to solve problems and adopt positive interpretations of all circumstances. Their journey is not dependent on what anyone thinks or whether anyone follows. They just do it ... anyway!

I believe that leadership is the greatest profession of the 21st century. Nowhere will it be more richly rewarded than in the people-enrichment business. That’s our business, and I challenge you to step out and take it on. You’ll love the adventure.

Recently I had the opportunity to interview two such leaders … individuals who levitated themselves out of poverty, impoverishment and childhoods that – although maybe not the worst we have ever heard about – certainly qualify as upbringings we would not wish on anyone. 

Somewhere along their paths, someone – it is always someone – introduced them to the idea that you can influence your path in life by influencing your thoughts … that you can downright reinvent yourself with enough fresh, clear and passionate input from inspirational sources.

These two leaders-of-leaders have not only risen to great levels of personal and financial success, but have dedicated their lives to being the “someone” for others.

What Are You Going To Do Once You Finally Realize You Blew It...

Hey Folks...

It's Tuesday evening and I've just been sitting here with a bowl of soup, going through the 1,700+ comments that people took the time to write on the "What's Working Now" blog over the last week...

It's sad in many ways... To see that so many people have the same problem and story... 

Over, and over, and over again, every post is the same...  

"Too much too learn and do, too little time to do it in. Not sure what to do next, or where to turn. Lost. Frustrated. Confused."

I completely feel these people and their frustrations.

In fact, my own overload is what inspired "WWN".

But after thinking about it, things could be worse for two reasons...

1: At the end of the day, it's a GOOD problem to have. Having too MANY great options for traffic and marketing, is a helluva lot better, than having too few.

2: There's a simple solution now available which is designed to specifically solve the information overload problem for you.

And yes, obviously I'm referring to the "What's Working Now Short-Cut System". 

BUT!

Here's what get's under my skin, and makes me worry about some people...

I'm a logical person Octavio, and if someone tells me, "I've got this problem", and then I hand them a quick, cheap, and easy solution that carries ZERO risk on their part...

I logically assume they will acquire that solution, as quickly as possible.

If they don't, it makes me wonder what the REAL issue is... Because that's called "self-sabotage."
  • Unless you're Super Man, you have this problem like myself and everyone else.

  • Money is not an excuse because it's only $9.95 to try.

  • You can't point the finger at fear, because it's has an unconditional 30 day guarantee.
If you think it's complete horse-shit, that's fine. But at least you tried it first hand to know that. That I can respect.

Declaring your problems, followed up by laziness and inaction, I cannot.

And that makes me wonder what the hell you're going to do when you wake up next week, and realize you BLEW your chance to solve a problem that only gets WORSE, as you become MORE successful.

When you realize, that getting access to "What's Working Now" is no longer an option for you, or for anyone else...

And that you're now stuck, and on your own.

Anyway...

I've said my peace for today.

Leaders Equal Residual Income

Leaders Equal Residual Income

Every project for residual income (in any Compensation Plan) can be, and should be, converted to a quantity of leaders. Instead of focusing on how much money you will earn, convert the income to how many leaders you will need to create the income. You can create and manage a plan to create leaders much easier than creating a plan to create volume and/or income.

For example:

Your goal is to earn $3,000 per month. Based on your Compensation Plan, you know that can be done by creating $20,000 per month in Total Volume through three separate, successful Established Legs. Therefore, what you will want to do is plan to create three leaders, one in each Leg.

Leaders Equal Established Legs

A successful Established Leg is not created by looking at volume or even the number of active distributors. It is best defined by an organizational leader. Once you have a leader in the Leg, the leader will establish the Leg and grow it from there.

What Defines an Organizational Leader?

  1. They have a clear vision of what they intend to accomplish.
  2. They have created a project and a plan for its attainment.
  3. They are self-motivated by their vision, maintaining their enthusiasm, their persistence, their attitude, and most important, their actions.
  4. They are producing their intended results.
Until you have someone who meets all four of these criteria, you do not have a leader. You may have a nice person who works hard and wants very much to be successful. You may even have someone who will do everything you ask and go everywhere there is to go. But until they produce consistently from their own motivation, they cannot be counted on for leadership.

 

State the Goal as Leadership

It will serve you well to always express your organizational and compensation goals in terms of leaders. Focusing on Compensation Plan titles and income levels creates a shallow and often misguided approach to achieving the goal. Compensation Plan titles are often achievable, even though you don’t have the organization and leaders to sustain the title. You can temporarily stretch for a title whereby you get the title, but the way you went about it left you with an empty shell of an organization. You have the title, but not the substance. You create an "out of integrity" situation for yourself. When you are out of integrity you lose your power and your energy. You become angry and frustrated. It’s downhill from there.

Make titles and income take a backseat to leadership. Have them be by-products of achieving your goal. Make your goal to develop yourself as a powerful leader and to attract other powerful leaders to your organization.
